Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in PALS Animal Shelter. PALS is a no-kill shelter located at 4287 Hwy 47 West, Hawk Point, MO 63349. The Hawk Point city limits sign is literally in our front yard. PALS exists solely with the help of volunteers and donations! Your offer to volunteer is very much appreciated!
Our volunteer hours daily are 8am until 12 noon and 5pm until 8pm.
Volunteering in the shelter:
All volunteers under the age of 16 must be in the presence of a parent or guardian at all times.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. All shoes must have a closed toe.
If you have cat allergies, please let us know.
PALS is a 100% smoking and vaping FREE facility
What to expect?
First time volunteers will need to have a volunteer form on file or fill out the volunteer form upon arrival
Please bring a copy of your ID with you on your first visit.
You will be helping with the following tasks:
• Prepping newspaper for use in the shelter
• Laundry
• Cleaning the cat suites
• Washing food and water bowls
• Mopping floors
• Walking dogs
• Brushing and petting dogs and cats
• Other tasks associated with a successful animal shelter
• Be prepared when you leave to have your heart filled with Dog and Cat Love, Kisses, Tail Wags, Purrs, and Kitten Joy

Meet PALS volunteer Tara!
Tara started at PALS in December 2013 with her two sons ages 7 & 10 at the time, because they needed service hours for school. She has been a reliable and faithful volunteer for over 10 years. Her favorite part of volunteering is seeing the dogs go from nervous and scared when they first arrive to happy and playful and find a home. The biggest challenge she sees is that you can never do enough at the shelter. There is always work to be done.
